I’m finally settled out here on the East Coast in the Baltimore/D.C. area, where there is a TON of competitive Magic events coming up in the next month or two.
Starting this weekend I’ll be trying to run over newbs with UWR Geist in standard (I’ll post a decklist and some follow up after Saturday) at an SCG Elite IQ, and then I’ll take it back to Michigan for the weekend after for GameDay. There’s a SCG Open in Baltimore later this month, as well as the NOVA (what the locals call the Northern Virginia region) Open for both Modern and Standard to finish the month. Then it’s back to the home state for some Modern format action at Grand Prix Detroit.
City in Bankruptcy? Who cares! We’ve still got magic to play!
Here’s what you can look forward to in the coming weeks:
– A review of the epic Booze Cube (someone created an insanely awesome Magic + alcoholism set)
– The long awaited reveal and demonstration of my “Box of MoJo”
– MORE BAD PLAYS! I haven’t played control in over a month, so I’m sure to make some solid mistakes in the coming weeks.
– Reviews on my transition from standard to modern with the same archetype (American Geist in TWO formats woo! USA! USA!)
Thanks for sticking with me and continuing to read BadMagicPlayer.com! Don’t forget to follow me on Twitter (@badmagicplayer), and check out the podcast I do with my friend Chris (who I used to have epic goblin vs elves kitchen table matches against back in middle school) about games, sports, and life in general called “2 Big Guys Podcast” Not a whole lot of Magic on there, but if you like games and sports, you should check it out!
Good luck, and may all your topdecks be awesome!
